WASHINGTON (TND) — George Washington University (GWU) associate law professor Melinda Roth expressed her outrage with student protesters in a fiery Facebook post last week, urging them to leave their campus encampments and return to their dorms.
GWU is one of many colleges facing mass protests in recent weeks as tensions over the conflict in the Middle East boil over. The school’s president on Sunday said GWU now needs the help of local police to restore law and order.
Roth, a Harvard graduate, blasted the protesters and accused them of overlooking how privileged they are to attend college in the U.S.
“Instead of hanging out in your nice brand new paid from unknown sources green and white tents [sic], why not send them to those displaced in Gaza who really need them?” she asked. “After all, you have dorms and apartments that mommy and daddy are paying for right now.”Continuing, the professor alleged the majority of protesters are not anti-war like they claim and repeatedly call for violence.
“Why is there not a single sign or chant to release the hostages?” Roth asked. “Innocent people have been kidnapped, including women and children and Americans. How can you claim signs that say ‘final solution’ or ‘zionists pigs get out’ or chants like ‘Burn Tel Aviv to the ground’ are not antisemitic?”
Carson Sturgis, a first-year student at GWU, echoed the sentiments to The National Desk (TND) last week, saying the campus encampments "are not in support of Palestine but rather in hatred towards Jews.”
Roth concluded her rant by saying the “proud” protesters should stop hiding behind masks.

“If you are so proud of yourselves, why hide those faces?” Roth asked. “Real protestors are proud of what they are doing and ready to face the consequences, whether getting arrested or suspended or whatever. You are not real protestors. You are sheep. You are indoctrinated to think Israel and Zionists and even Jews are evil.”
The rant comes as communist and anarchist ideologies are becoming more prominent at encampments across the country. At New York University (NYU), protesters recently distributed pamphlets reading “death to America.”
