With any relationship or marriage, couples have their rules. Most of the time, it’s more so boundaries and expressing to one another their comfortability on things I need to be talked about like going to public events, sexual desires, etc. It’s a super common, and downright healthy, thing to do to discuss your boundaries with your partner. However, if these allegations are correct, then Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck took it way too far.

Being in the public eye is bound to be tough, and having a public relationship comes with different perils, but these rules that allegedly have behind closed doors are a whole new level of confusion.

For those who don’t know: Back in 2001, Lopez and Affleck met on the set of Gigli, getting together soon after in 2002. They got engaged and were together until 2004 because of the media getting to their relationship. They reconnected in May 2021 and got engaged less than a year later, and later shocked the world with their July 16, 2022 elopement.

We’ve seen their PDA-filled red carpet moments, and quite a few TikToks that show some fighting at the after-parties. And right when you think you know everything there is to know about Bennifer 2.0, you then learn that Lopez allegedly made a clause in their prenuptial agreement that dictates how many times a week they have sex.

While Lopez and Affleck have the budget to hire an array of housekeepers, maids, and really whoever they want to hire, Lopez allegedly has strict rules that even Affleck must follow, such as never leaving a dish out, due to her cleanliness, per TheThings. This one is quite low on the yikes-o-meter; everyone likes a cleaner house.
Whenever She Goes to the Gym, He Has To Join Her
While a gym date is pretty standard with a lot of couples, Lopez is workout routine is pretty out there, considering she does strength training for hours on end, and she allegedly refuses to do it alone. Every time she goes to the gym, Affleck has to join her for the entire time, and he has to stay in shape as well, per TheThings.
No Smoking or Drinking Allowed!
We’ve all seen, and maybe even used, the iconic meme of Ben Affleck smoking outside and looking truly exhausted with life. It’s no secret that he enjoys a cigarette, but Lopez allegedly has an extremely strict no-drinking or smoking rule in the house.
No Female Flight Attendants
According to Fox News, Lopez doesn’t allow female flight attendants on her private planes to this day after her then-husband Marc Anthony had an alleged fling with a flight attendant.
Only Three Drinks When You Go Out
It’s been alleged for years that Lopez has a strict “only three drinks when we’re out” rule with all her past partners, per Cheat Sheet. But it’s also been alleged that that rule has changed completely to no drinks whatsoever due to Affleck’s past addiction and stays at rehab.
They Need To Have Sex This Many Times per Week
According to Marca, Lopez and Affleck’s prenuptial agreement states that they need to have “minimum of four sexual relations per week.” And this was allegedly her idea.
He Must Get Along With This Ex
Lopez and Affleck have both had their fair share of star-studded lovers, but it’s been alleged by HollywoodLife that Affleck absolutely has to get along with Lopez’s ex-husband Marc Anthony. Why? He’s the father of their twins, and they are allegedly still extremely close after their divorce in 2014.
He Needs To Be in Charge of All Relocation
It’s been alleged by the houses Spanish tabloid Marca that, in order to keep Lopez happy and blissful, Affleck is in charge of all their relocation matters when it comes to moving or buying houses. House hunting is quite stressful, but to not split the duties half and half sounds even more stressful.
He Needs To Be Open to Sobriety Tests
As we previously mentioned, Affleck has been open about his journey to sobriety and overcoming addiction. And allegedly, to make sure he stays sober, Lopez checks with him frequently to ensure he’s sober, per YourTango.
Be Stingy With the Tips
According to a now-deleted TikTok video via YourTango, a former employee of a casino told the story about how Lopez was “stingy” with his money, saying, “[Lopez] tells [Affleck] not to tip. He doesn’t tip anymore, baby! You don’t need to tell him nothing, he ain’t doing it.” And others alleged that if he did, she would take the big tips away from the service industry workers.
No More Kids
Per YourTango, Jennifer Lopez made it clear she didn’t want any more kids, and she had to ensure Ben Affleck was on the same page. So no more kids for them.
